SINGAPORE – The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) will conduct military training at The Star Vista in Buona Vista next Monday night (Feb 7) to early Tuesday morning (Feb 8).

This will involve ground and air elements, including low-flying aircraft, the Ministry of Defence (Mindef) said in a press release on Thursday (Feb 3).

The drill will run from 9pm Monday to 5am Tuesday.

The ministry advised the public to “stay away from the area and not panic”.

From 9 p.m. Monday to 1 a.m. Tuesday, aerial activities such as flying kites, flying tethered balloons and flying unmanned aerial vehicles (such as drones) will not be permitted in the temporary exclusion zone.

The temporary exclusion zone includes Ghim Moh Edge, Ghim Moh Valley, Dover Ville estate and the open space next to Buona Vista MRT station.

The SAF will also conduct military exercises at various locations next week, including Marsiling, Neo Tiew, Lim Chu Kang, Pasir Ris, Bedok and Sembawang.

Blank and Thunderbolt will be used at these locations, Mindef said.
