Henry Golding is making waves with his third international movie role, Monsoon.

The English-Iban TV presenter was first handpicked to star in the highly-anticipated book-to-film adaptation, Crazy Rich Asians, last year. After filming for the Jon M. Chu-helmed romantic drama wrapped, he landed his second lead role starring opposite Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick in the mystery-thriller, A Simple Favor.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals Golding will be leading the cast of Monsoon next, directed by Cambodia-born British director Hong Khaou.

The Sarawak-born actor will play the film’s British-Vietnamese protagonist who left Saigon as a child and returns home years later as an adult to scatter his parents’ ashes.

Golding took to Instagram to share the happy news, stating, “‘Monsoon’ as a script blew me away. After speaking to Hong Khaou the director (who also wrote it), I knew this was something I so wanted to be apart of.”

Hong Khaou made his feature film debut with 2014 British drama Lilting. His 2011 short film Spring played at Sundance Film Festival and the Berlin International Film Festival.
