SINGAPORE – Road and lane closures around Parliament House are expected between tomorrow (Aug 24) and Friday (Aug 26) for the lying in state of former President S R Nathan.
The body of the late Mr Nathan will lie in state from 10am on Thursday (Aug 25) to 12pm on Friday.
As such, the following roads and lanes will be closed to traffic, starting from 10pm tomorrow to 5pm on Friday:
– Extreme right lane of Parliament Place (between North Bridge Road and The Arts House)
– Parliament Place (between Supreme Court Lane and The Arts House)
– Saint Andrew’s Road
– Coleman Street (between St Andrew’s Road and Supreme Court Lane)
– Connaught Drive
– Fullerton Road (between Esplanade Drive and Connaught Drive)
Eight public bus services plying the affected roads will be temporarily diverted. They are SBS bus services 100, 107, 130, 131 and 195 and SMRT bus services 75, 167 and 961.
The car park at Parliament House will also be closed during the period.
The public can pay their last respects at Parliament House from 10am to 8pm on Thursday. Those who wish to do so can join the queue at the Padang via St Andrew’s Road.
