One hurt after taxi crashes into restaurant at Toa Payoh

SINGAPORE: A taxi driver was hurt after his vehicle crashed into an eatery at Toa Payoh on Wednesday (Nov 16). 

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was alerted to the accident at Block 107 Toa Payoh Lorong 1 at around 5.20pm and dispatched an ambulance to the scene. 

Photos and video sent by a passerby Andrew Ng, showed a CityCab at the entrance of the Thai Lily restaurant, with the front part of the car smashed.

The Singapore Police Force said the accident involved two vehicles, the taxi and another car.  

The 61-year-old driver was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for his injuries, SCDF added. 

Investigations are still ongoing.
