Aside from a thrilling main event bout between lightweights Ev “E.T.” Ting and Iranian veteran wrestler Kamal Shalorus, mixed martial arts fans are in for a treat, as ONE Championship has revealed the complete card set for ONE: THRONE OF TIGERS, 10 February, at the Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur.
Five popular Malaysian ONE superstars will see action inside the ONE Championship cage including rising star Agilan “Alligator” Thani, female warrior Ann “Athena” Osman, top prospect Keanu Subba, flyweight hopeful Saiful “The Vampire” Merican, and young featherweight Muhammad Aiman.
The undefeated 21-year-old Thani (6-0) will take on Chinese Taipei’s Jeff “The Machine” Huang (6-2) in what should be an incredible matchup. Both Thani and Huang are certified finishers with a 100% finishing rate.
Thani owns three wins by submission and three by knockout, while Huang has two by submission and four by knockout. To expect anything less than a finish when the two meet at the center of the cage would be inexplicable. Thani and Huang can potentially steal the show with an action-packed encounter.
In addition, Osman (4-3) will make her highly-anticipated return to the ONE Championship cage. The 30-year-old Osman was last seen in a losing effort against the Philippines’ April Osenio last September, but “Athena” has vowed to make a spirited comeback in 2017. She will be taking on unbeaten Cambodian prospect Vy Srey Khouch (2-0) who will be making her ONE Championship promotional debut.
Familiar face and one half of the popular Subba siblings, Keanu Subba (4-2), will be making an appearance once again in Kuala Lumpur. The 22-year-old, who trains out of Bali MMA, won via exciting TKO last time he was in the cage in September against Waqar Umar. This time, he will be going up against one of the promotion’s top prospects in the fast-rising Ahmed “The Wolverine” Mujtaba (6-0).
Saiful Merican (4-3), who starred alongside Peter Davis in the Andy Lau-produced Malaysian feature film “J Revolusi”, will see action against the Philippines’ Burn “The Hitman” Soriano (3-2), while former MIMMA featherweight champion Muhammad Aiman (1-1) takes on Brazilian jiu-jitsu ace Eduardo Novaes (0-1).
In addition, former top contender Herbert “The Blaze” Burns (6-0) will return to the ONE Championship cage after a lengthy break. Burns was last in the cage against Timofey Nastyukhin in September of 2015. He will do battle against Movlid “Killer” Khaibulaev (10-0) of Russia.
