Jack Tan is on a roll this year.
The Malaysian pop star has just picked up another Best Actor accolade at the inaugural ASEAN-China Film Festival (ACFF 2017), which was held at Putrajaya International Convention Centre on Dec 4.
This is his third Best Actor win for the star of Shuttle Life this year.
In Shuttle Life, Tan plays a teenage boy going through tough times in the rough neighbourhood of Pudu, Kuala Lumpur.
Tan bagged his first two Best Actor awards in China: the first at the 20th Shanghai International Film Festival’s Asian New Talent competition in June; and the second at the 12th Chinese Young Generation Film Forum Awards which was held in Wuhan, China in September.
After picking up his ACFF 2017 trophy in Putrajaya, Tan said via his social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram): “I’m very happy to win another award! I will continue to work hard!”
Shuttle Life is Tan’s second full length feature film. His first was The Gathering (2014), a coming-of-age flick shot in Taiping.
Currently, Tan can be seen in local TV drama Beautiful World – My Pet Lover, in which he plays the quirky role of a golden retriever pet dog who has to learn how to behave like a human after being transformed into a handsome young man.
