October 31 may be Halloween in most people’s calendar, but this year that date belongs to K-dramaland’s celebrity couple Song Joong-ki and Song Hye-kyo.
Joong-ki, 32 and Hye-kyo, 35, exchanged wedding vows in a private ceremony at the Shilla Seoul Hotel in Jangchung-dong, Seoul.
Fans worldwide were able to catch snippets of their beloved #SongSongCouple’s wedding thanks to social media.
Hashtagged the #SongSongCoupleWedding, social media platforms were flooded with photos and videos taken by guests at the wedding.
The happy occasion was apparently not open to media and there were no press conferences so there were no official photographs. Dubbed as “The Wedding of the Century” by media and fans alike, it was very much a private affair with no professional emcee or wedding singer.
Instead, they got all their close friends involved.
Song Joong Ki, Song Hye Kyo tie the knot in Seoul
Park Bo-gum played the piano. Ock Joo-hyun (formerly of K-pop group Fin.K.L.) sang the nuptial theme. Gameshow star Lee Kwang-soo and actor Yoo Ah-in read letters.
Like a fairytale love story, #SongSongCouple captured the hearts of K-drama fans when their onscreen romance in Descendants Of The Sun (2016) became real.

Even Chinese movie star Zhang Ziyi was a guest at the wedding along with the who’s who of South Korean entertainment such as Cha Tae-hyun, Park Bo-young, So Ji-sub, Kim Jong-kook, Yoo Jae-suk, Ji Suk-jin, Haha, Hong Kyung-min, Kim Hee-sun, Song Yoon-ah, Choi Ji-woo, Park Sol-mi, Moon So-ri, Park Hyung-sik, Kim Ji-won, Super Junior’s Donghae, 2PM’s Junho and SHINee’s Minho.
The couple is reportedly going to Europe for their honeymoon. It is said, they will settle down in Seoul’s Itaewon neighbourhood.
