Competing for a share of the yearly celebration revenue, some eateries are outdoing one another with freebies for dining with them on Mother’s Day next weekend (May 13 – 14).
We list some of the more attractive perks, which range from complimentary vintage champagne to a full-blown gourmet buffet. Ask mum what she likes – she can even pamper herself with free meals the whole weekend.
FEAST FOR FREE
Jade restaurant: If mum prefers Chinese food, she can dine free with at least two paying adults for an individually plated six-course dinner at restaurant in The Fullerton Hotel on May 13. Priced at $88++, the set menus include items chicken consomme with abalone, fish maw, scallop and cordycep fungus, and stewed abalone with mushrooms and spinach.
La Brasserie: Mums get to enjoy a free four-course French set dinner on May 13 and 14 when she’s accompanied by at least two paying guests at this restaurant in The Fullerton Bay Hotel. Dishes include a crab avocado salad, trout with chablis caviar sauce and chocolate fondue. The same condition applies if mum chooses to have its brunch on May 13, which rolls out temptations like Wagyu burger and truffle Mac and cheese. Brunch prices: $68++ with non-alcohol drinks, $99++ with wines and beer.
Lantern: Mums can also feast for free here if she chooses its barbecue brunch on the rooftop of Fullerton Bay Hotel on May 14, if accompanied with at least two paying adults. Prices at $78++ (with non-alcoholic drinks and $138++ (with champagne and cocktail) cover a big spread of lobsters, oysters and salt-crusted bass. The family gets to frolic in the infinity pool with views of Marina Bay.
21 On Rajah: An accompanied mum can tuck into its Mediterranean and Asian lunch buffet or Middle-East BBQ dinner buffet for free at this halal-certified restaurant in Days Inn on May 12-14. Lunch is $40++ while dinner costs $48++.
Porta: Mum dines free with every three paying adults for the semi-buffet-style European brunch at the restaurant in Park Hotel Clarke Quay on May 14. The spread includes 48-hour short ribs, oysters, tuna ceviche and lobster bisque. Prices: $56++ and an extra $42++ if you want a free-flow of wine and beer for two hours.
Orchard Cafe: The lunch cum high tea buffet ($52++) and dinner buffet ($78++) are free for mum dining with at least two paying guests on May 13-14. Expect an array of international and local specialties at this restaurant in Orchard Hotel. For dinner, mum also gets a complimentary Chinese dessert, double-boiled hashima with red dates.

Edge: A complimentary glass of Laurent-Perrier champagne for mothers dining at dinner buffet at the Pan Pacific Hotel on May 13 and 14. The spread, which includes a collagen-rich Bijin soup, organic greens and truffle somen, costs $98++.
Chihuly Lounge: The impressive free bubbly offered at this Ritz-Carlton afternoon tea on May 13-14 is Möet & Chandon Grand Vintage Rose 2006. Canapes, hot savoury bites and luscious desserts for $68++.
boCHINche: Mums will receive a complimentary glass of Rutini Trumpeter Rose de Malbec Sparkling when ordering ala carte Argentinean-style brunch dishes at this Amoy Street eatery on May 14. On the menu are braised ossobuco on toast, Brioche French toast with ham and bacon ice cream.
Prima Tower Revolving Restaurant: Celebrating ‘Parent’s Day’ instead, this restaurant well-known for its Peking duck offers a free bottle of red wine for its specially priced $498++ multi-course feast for 10 persons from May 1 to June 30.

Ellenborough Market Cafe: This buffet restaurant in at Swissotel Mechant Court is honouring mum with a free bowl of Buddha Jumps Over The Wall soup at in its $58++ brunch buffet on May 13 and 14. Dishes include sashimi, Peranakan classics and foie gras prepared three ways.
Shang Palace: The Mother’s Day gift here are two bottles of premium bird nest for with a minimum spend of $500 for lunch or dinner from May 6 to 14. Menus priced from $128 a person feature roast suckling pig, sauteed scallops with black bean sauce and and braised bird nest with abalone soup.

Gin Khao Bistro: A free rice or noodle dish cooked Thai style when mum dines with at least one more person at the restaurant in Sentosa’s Quayside Isle from May 8 to 14. Mum might want to try the Thai basil minced pork or spiced beef fried rice if she’s tired of Pad Thai or pineapple rice.
FREE MEALS IF MUM WINS
