The newly installed president took some time off from his busy schedule to enjoy a bit of shopping in the city. He even posed for a photo with the shop assistant.

According to the shopping mall, Temer spent 798 yuan (S$162) on a pair of leather shoes and also 399 yuan ($59.80) on a toy dog.

During the Russian delegation’s shopping spree, members spent 180,000 yuan ($2,696) at Luolai, a home textile company headquartered in China.

‘Handsome’ Trudeau promotes Canadian lobster on Tmall

With growing popularity in China, Canada Pime Minister Justin Trudeau hit the headlines again during his eight-day visit to China for promoting lobsters from Canada at Alibaba’s Tmall, one of China’s most popular online shopping platforms, in Hangzhou on Saturday.

Trudeau and Alibaba founder Jack Ma announced the launch Saturday of a Canadian-styled online shop on the Tmall platform at the Chinese firm’s offices in Hangzhou.

The shop will provide more convenience for Chinese consumers as they can directly buy specialty products from Canada.

A photo showing a smiling Trudeau holding the lobsters imported from Canada with Jack Ma is an online hit on China’s social media.

Trudeau’s son has even been nicknamed “little potato”, as the Chinese pronunciation of “Trudeau” sounds similar to the Chinese character “potato.”

His wife Sophie Gregoire also went on a shopping spree at Hangzhou Tower Saturday. Sophie and their daughter indulged in the shopping there for more than one hour.

This celebrity prime minister also practiced tai chi during a launch ceremony for Manulife-Sinochem in Shanghai on last Friday. G20 leaders and delegations enjoy Hangzhou outside the summit.

Foreign leaders taste local food in Hangzhou

Grandma’s House, a famous restaurant chain in Hanzghou, has become a first choice for many foreign leaders attending the G20 Summit. Thailand’s delegation went to the restaurant twice during the summit and Turkey’s delegation has also chosen this restaurant. The Turkish president also has been spotted at a local diner in the city, eating noodles and drinking bottled water.

Compared to Turkey’s president, Argentine President Mauricio Macri and his first lady, Juliana Awada, chose a Western-styled restaurant in Hangzhou, where the president and his wife chatted with the servers with English and waved to the gathering customers from time to time.

The food they ordered totaled 397 yuan.
