Free bus, train rides on June 30 for NSmen – if they are in uniforms

SINGAPORE – All past and present National Servicemen can enjoy free travel on public buses and trains on June 30, on condition they wear their uniforms for “verification purposes”.

The free rides are part of the commemorative efforts for 50 years of National Sevice (NS50), said transport operators – Tower Transit, SBS Transit, SMRT and Go-Ahed Singapore – in a joint media release on Monday (June 19).

SAF NSmen wearing the No.3 or No.4 service uniforms, and SPF and SCDF NSmen wearing duty uniforms can enjoy free rides from the first to the last bus and train services, including Nite Owl and Night Rider on that day.

The NS50 campaign is a year-long celebration to commemorate 50 years of NS, in recognition of the contributions of the more than one million past and present national servicemen who have served in the SAF, SPF and SCDF.
