Formula One: 21 races planned for 2017

PARIS – Twenty-one races are scheduled for the 2017 Formula One world championship, although Canada, Brazil and Germany are still to be confirmed, the World Council of the sport’s governing body said Wednesday.

The 2017 season will start in Melbourne on March 26 and finish in Abu Dhabi nine months later.

Singapore, in the last year of its current deal, has switched slots with Malaysia for next season.

The 2017 calendar will be confirmed at the next meeting of the World Council in Vienna on November 30.

September 17: Malaysia (Sepang, Kuala Lumpur)

October 1: Singapore

October 8: Japan (Suzuka)

October 22: United States (Austin)
