Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure rejected the offer from China’s Premier League club, which will pay about £ 430,000 (S $ 755,509) a week to Côte d’Ivoire, the report said Tuesday.
Toure lost the contract at the end of the season, and in recent months the Chinese club has been accepting a series of star signings.
The 33-year-old student is said to have been interested in China last year.
He eased those offers and gave the same response when he once again contacted a winter transfer window this month because he prefers to continue in the UK, the BBC and other UK media said.
It is unclear whether the signature of Toure’s City from Barcelona in 2010 will give him a new deal.
In the past two months, Toure regained his place in the center of the city midfielder when a row of wars between the club and his agent ended his time at the club.
Toure was frozen to death by manager Pep Guardiola, and his outspoken representative Dimitri Seluk claimed that the midfield was humiliated by the omission of his City Champions League team.
This situation was resolved in October from Toure’s apology.
