LONDON –
Mercedes is the main force in the Formula 1 racing team, and they have not announced a replacement for world champion Niko Rosberg, who will be showing the 2017 car at Silverstone on February 23rd.
The Mercedes-Benz website (www.mercedesamgf1.com) said Wednesday that the ruling champion will “unleash the beast to the world” at the British Grand Prix route from the Brackley factory.
Fans who register their winners on Facebook will have the chance to win VIP visits to witness the first lap of the W08 Challenger.
Last season, Mercedes in 19 games in 21 games, in addition to all the pole outside the game began.
They will start in March in Australia for the fourth consecutive win, the British three world champion Lewis Hamilton in the absence of former rival Rosberg’s lead.
The German driver announced his retirement five days after announcing his first title in Abu Dhabi in late November 2011, saying he had reached the peak and fulfilled his ambitions.
His decision to leave Mercedes in a difficult position, with all the other leading drivers with competitors in this year’s little bit of a contract.
It’s also a recognition that a teammate of Hamilton, who won nine of the 10 Grand Prix Rosbergs, has struggled and has defeated a season’s process.
Rosberg’s replacement is expected to be announced imminently, with testing starting at the end of February in Spain.
Finland’s Valtteri Bottas is seen as a safe bet, as well as a safe pair of hands, to land the seat. The motorsport.com website has reported that the Williams driver visited the Mercedes factory over the Christmas break.
The 2017 season will see wider tyres, faster cars and revised aerodynamics with Mercedes likely to face a tougher test from rivals Red Bull — who have Australian Daniel Ricciardo and Dutch teenager Max Verstappen — and Ferrari.
“I hope we can be as successful as we’ve been in 2016. It was not always an easy ride and I don’t expect it to be any easier in 2017 but certainly one thing, it’s going to be good fun again,” said team boss Toto Wolff in a New Year’s message.
