Singaporean singer Yumi Bai has fuelled rumours that she is going out with fellow local Elroy Cheo after posting a photo of her leaning on the businessman.
Bai, one-half of Mandopop duo By2, deleted the photo shortly after sharing it with her over 180,000 Instagram followers on Sunday (June 5), Phoenix Television reported.
This gave rise to reports that she was trying to keep their relationship a secret.
But Cheo, who famously dated Taiwanese singer Elva Hsiao for about a year before they broke up last July, clarified to the media yesterday (June 6) that he had asked Bai to delete the photo to prevent misunderstanding.

He said they happened to meet at a mutual friend’s birthday party in Singapore, where the photo was taken.
Following her high-profile romance with casino magnate Stanley Ho’s son Mario Ho, which ended in December last year, the latest incident led netizens to accuse Bai of being a gold digger.

Cheo comes from a wealthy family and is the brother of jewellery designer Arissa Cheo, the wife of Taiwanese artiste Van Ness Wu.
He said in the interview yesterday that he had known Bai for two years, and that they were just friends.
