The Beckham boys are a talented bunch, aren’t they?
Not contented with just inheriting the good looks of their parents, famed footballer David Beckham and fashion designer Victoria Beckham, the boys have had their share of being in the spotlight on their own merits.
The famous brood includes eldest child Brooklyn, 17, Romeo, 14, Cruz, 11, and the only girl, Harper, 5.
The latest to prove his worth is youngest son, Cruz, who recently launched a singing career.
He made his official musical debut with his first single ‘If Everyday Was Christmas’ on Wednesday (Dec 7).
The youngster also has an official Instagram page (which is verified, of course) overseen by his manager and team. He has already racked up over 176,000 followers on the social media platform.
David Beckham himself uploaded a video on his own Instagram account of Cruz’s adorable reaction to hearing himself on the radio for the first time.
In April, the proud father also shared Cruz’s own rendition of the Anna Kendrick hit song, Cups.
For those who find Cruz’s sound similar to Justin Bieber’s — perhaps it’s no coincidence that the aspiring singer is signed with the Biebs’ long-time manager Scooter Braun.
And that itself has drawn some flak on the Internet.
British TV host Piers Morgan slammed the Beckhams during a segment of his Good Morning Britain show and alluded to Cruz being “pushed into the commercial world too early”.
Morgan continued his tirade on Twitter, accusing the famous family for being “fame-hungry parents”.
He wrote: “They deliberately exploit their family for commercial gain. We are thus all entitled to comment.”
Well, Braun wasn’t about to take all of that lying down and he also took to Twitter to engage in a public war of words.
He called out Morgan and said: “@piersmorgan how about you match him dollar for dollar to the charity? Instead of criticising (sic) step up and help these kids the way Cruz is.”
It’s safe to say they went back and forth on this topic.
But new fans of little Cruz could not probably care less.
This isn’t the first time that he’s displayed his talents. During the Spice Girls reunion tour in 2008, Cruz was spotted onstage showcasing his breakdancing skills.
And just like that, at the age of 3, he probably had his first taste of being on a global stage.
One might say it helps to have famous parents. After all, his two brothers have started pursuing their own interests — and quite remarkably well (and quick) at that.
Eldest son, Brooklyn, is a budding photographer while younger brother Romeo made his modelling debut in 2013 for luxury brand Burberry’s Spring/Summer print campaign.
He has since gone on to become a Burberry favourite and was the star of the brand’s Christmas campaign last year.
Who knows, we might see more of youngest child Harper in the near future. Posh Spice 2.0, perhaps?
