STUDENTS of a college in Shaanxi province, China, are reportedly made to pay 10 yuan (S$2) for each wrong answer they give to a question, according to Kwong Wah Yit Poh.

Some of the students said they also need to pay 300 yuan (S$62) if they fail three subjects.

The news went viral online after some students complained about it, sparking criticism by social media users.

Others, however, said the move would help improve the students’ results.

When contacted, the college said the rule was set by the class and not the college, adding that it would investigate the matter.
