Cab driver Fang Jia has been a hard-core fan of the Monkey King ever since he watched the Chinese classic TV series Journey to the West as a child.
Last year, the 26 year old started to put his dream of playing the legendary role into practice. Now, he spends almost all his spare time performing as the Monkey King and even driving his taxi in the costume.
He applies the distinctive face markings of the Monkey King before driving his taxi in Xi’an city, Shaanxi province. It only takes him 10 minutes to finish the make-up, he says.
