A male motorcyclist was killed and two others were injured early yesterday morning in an accident that occurred at the Second Link towards Tuas Checkpoint.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force was alerted to the incident at 5.09am and sent an ambulance. Paramedics pronounced the 51-year-old Malaysian man dead at the scene.
Police said the two injured people, a 33-year-old male motorcyclist and his 32-year-old female pillion rider, were conscious when they were taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital with cuts and bruises on their arms and legs.
The Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said the two are also Malaysians.
The accident caused a massive jam, affecting hundreds of motorists who were on their way to work in Singapore.

ICA said the traffic situation returned to normal at 8.30am.
One person affected was 28-year-old infrastructure engineer Mugal Arasan, who has been riding his motorcycle from Johor Baru to work in Singapore nearly every day for seven years.
He told The New Paper that he took three hours to get to work yesterday – double the time he would usually take.
Mr Arasan said: “I heard a bang in front of me, followed by screaming. People were all trying to get the authorities to help the injured.
“But soon, people got frustrated.
“The lanes were all closed and no one could move. There was so much honking and yelling because everyone was so tense.”
A 45-year-old lorry driver has been arrested for causing death by a negligent act, in connection with the accident.

Police are investigating.
