If you have what it takes to be a ‘water’ ninja, here is a contest for you to show off your skills.
You can fight it out alone or form a team to do so.
This year’s DBS Marina Regatta, which will be held at Marina Bay from June 1 – 4, will set the stage with a huge inflatable water obstacle course taking up an area of about 110 square metres at the bay area for this eventX,
Called ‘Battle Bay’, it will challenge contestants with nine obstacles such as balancing blocks, monkey bars, wall scaling, and rope swings.
The water obstacle course at the sixth edition of the regatta will be its largest ever seen. Last year’s event saw visitors enjoying thrills on a 16-metre-high inflatable slide and a small obstacle course for kids.
For the coming event, individual contestants and teams can stand to win up to $8,000 in cash prizes.
Apart from the usual boating and sailing competitions, the regatta will offer lifestyle attractions to draw more participants. More details are in their website: www.dbsmarinaregatta.com
Here are 4 other highlights that will excite the lover of food, booze and dance:
1. Have fun on a bigger urban beach
Twice as big as last year’s, the urban beach will allow visitors to laze in a hammock while enjoying a drink as dragon boaters fight it out on the water.
Bali beach club Potato Head will sett up their legendary Coconut Bar here for the first time. Indulge in their signature coconut cocktails, or if you’re feeling peckish, grab a bite from their Three Buns gourmet burger stand.
2. Take part in lululemon workouts
Fitness company lululemon will offer special workouts which have made them rather famous on the international stage. Classes to be held in the nine-metre-tall ‘Play Dome’ are free but you need to register at www.dbsmarinaregatta.com, starting from May 2.
3. Let your hair down in Ultra Music Festival countdown
The two evening countdown parties on June 2 – 3 are a prelude to the premier electronic music festival taking place the following weekend. Party goers can get a chance to win tickets to the actual festival. DBS Live Fresh cardholders will get priority access to the countdown.
4. Food galore
In response to the good response last year, The Local People will return to curate this year’s food village. It will offer culinary temptations from from the award-winning “Neo-Sin” restaurant Labyrinth, French eatery Garçons, The BellJar and Leng Leng ice cream among others.
