The death of a female pedestrian on Tuesday (June 7) night following a road accident in Jurong West led to the arrest of a 41-year-old driver of a car.
The accident took place at about 9pm along Jurong West Avenue 1 towards Jurong Town Hall. Stomp contributor Valerie was passing by the scene of the accident just after the accident and alerted Stomp.
In response to Stomp’s queries, the police confirmed that the accident involved a pedestrian, the 21-year old woman, and a male car driver, who was arrested in relation to the case.
Photos of the alleged suspect being led away by police were posted on Facebook by user Afyque Salleh.
The victim was taken to Ng Teng Fong General hospital where she died shortly after.
Facebook user Fadiq Rosdi wrote in a post that he was the victim’s older brother and appealed for eyewitnesses.
Police investigations are ongoing.
