Interesting fact of the day! The National Museum of Singapore is extremely careful about the lighting levels in the galleries as certain type of artefacts such as textiles, photographs and prints will show signs of fading when exposed to light for too long.

To extend the lifespan of these artefacts, the curators work closely with conservators to minimise their exposure to light when illuminating an artefact by reducing its display duration and lowering the light intensity. No doubt an immense amount of effort goes behind maintaining our favourite exhibitions! http://www.sistic.com.sg/events/cshg2016a
