A pet cat was run over by an aircraft after it escaped as it was being loaded onto a plane in Taipei.
It belonged to a Taiwanese man who was migrating to Hong Kong, reported Nanyang Siang Pau.
The owner, identified only as Hou, demanded the airline be held accountable for the feline’s death.
The cat, named Miao Miao, was meant to board the same plane that Hou and his wife were taking.
Before the plane took off, the cat escaped and was run over.
The airline, promising an investigation, initially e-mailed Hou to offer an apology and US$100 (RM429) as compensation for Miao Miao’s death.
Refusing the compensation, Hou said he was dissatisfied with the airline’s handling of the case.
“They are cold-hearted. They have not even explained how my cat got out of the carrier,” he said.
The airline claims that the pet escaped before the carrier was loaded into the aircraft, and that it was probing which party should be held responsible.
