Lee Hsien Yang's son says he supports his father and aunt's statement against PM Lee

Mr Lee Hsien Yang’s son, Li Shengwu, says he stands by his father and aunt Dr Lee Wei Ling’s statement against Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. He stated in a Facebook post today that “my immediate family has become increasingly worried about the lack of checks on abuse of power”.

He added that “the situation is now such that my parents have made plans to relocate to another country, a painful decision that they have not made lightly”.

Stating that he usually avoids commenting on Singapore politics, “but this is an exception”, Li also shared the statement his father had posted on Facebook on Wednesday.

PM Lee’s siblings, Dr Lee and Mr Lee Hsien Yang had released a statement  today, stating that they are are “disturbed by the character, conduct, motives and leadership of our brother”, and have “lost confidence in him”.

In a reply to a comment on Mr Li’s post regarding why the story was “not in the news”, the 32-year-old stated: “Because the Singapore news is heavily controlled by the government. I’m in a position to know.”
