SINGAPORE – Firefighters have contained a chemical leak reported at a Kallang Way factory on Tuesday (July 18) afternoon.
TODAY understands there are nine casualties.
“The incident is contained within a sealed room in the premises. The leak has been shut off,” the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said in a Facebook post.
It added that two fire engines, one fire bike, three support vehicles and two ambulances were dispatched to the factory at 166 Kallang Way, the address for Epcos, an electronics manufacturer.
SCDF first alerted about the incident at 2.11pm, and urged the public to stay away from the area.
